“Signs of Softness” began as a reflection during a transformative period in the late twenties. The series explores the delicate balance between preserving softness and embracing the strength required for personal growth. Pieces like Sending Letters to Strangers: Eyelash Edition play with themes of hope and superstition, sending eyelashes to strangers as an intimate gesture of shared connection.
Other works, such as Me and My Shadows: Some Are Keeping Me Safe, delve into the relationship between personal fears and the ways they shape identity and provide protection. This series emerged during a period of transition, becoming a way to process unresolved emotions from the past. It serves as a reminder of the strength inherent in softness and the ability to leave traces of it in the world.
Throughout the creation of this series, a phrase emerged, like a clinging: Don’t Kill Your Tender Heart
The phrase holds ongoing meaning and transformed into the underlying motif of my work; an arrow, an aligment, a truth to hold close
